AIA Connecticut Public Service Award
A biennial program that recognizes those individuals or groups who have demonstrated public service by one or more of the following criteria in activities related to a single project or for ongoing public service:
- enhancing the built environment
- educating the public
- supporting the architectural profession or
- meeting the challenges posed by an architectural project.
The Public Service Award recognizes the importance of these contributions in so far as they are instrumental in the design process, but the award is not given for design.
Eligibility: AIA Connecticut members may nominate candidates. Architects are not eligible
for this award, as the program’s intent is to reach broadly into the community.
Selection: Members of the AIA Connecticut Design Commission will serve as the jury and select one individual in each cycle. The winner may be asked to serve on the jury of the next award program.
Qualifications: The project supported or actions encouraged by the nominee must be located in Connecticut. Municipal projects or examples of community actions may be submitted.
