Getting it Right: The Proof is in Testing and Commissioning

Description:

Getting it Right: The Proof is in Testing and Commissioning

3 HSW hours

Join us for an important program on how architects can demonstrate to clients the value of testing and commissioning on their projects and insure that systems are working the way they were designed to. Testing lets you find problems before you hear from your client about them.

Philippe Campus, AIA, a veteran presenter of commended AIA Connecticut educational programs, will present a program on testing and commissioning residential projects. Philippe will draw on his current experience in testing and commissioning and share how to organize the processes and why testing and commissioning improves building performance. In the past, Philippe has given programs on Passive House Construction and on making buildings airtight.

You will learn:

• The relationship of testing and commissioning to the new codes, in particular the 2009 International Energy Conservation Code
• The reasons for testing and commissioning
• The value to the client of early evaluation of the proper working of systems and correction where necessary
• A case study of a recent project, including a walk- through of the testing processes
