Lois Arena, Director of Passive House Services at Steven Winter Associates, Inc., possesses over 25 years’ experience in the building science field. She holds both US and international Passive House consultant certifications and is currently consulting on some of the largest and most difficult Passive House projects in the world. She has co-authored and presented training programs about energy efficient building practices to professionals in all sectors of the building industry and is regularly invited to present at conferences and private firms around the world to discuss the benefits of and roadblocks to PH adoption.
Brian Baril, AIA is a Preconstruction Manager with A/Z Corporation, a construction management and design build company in North Stonington, CT. He serves on the Preconstruction team with a focus on applying design principles to the estimating process. He is the 2022-2023 Young Architect Representative for AIA Connecticut.
Sergio Carrillo is Managing Director of Clean Energy Incentive Programs with the Connecticut Green Bank, where he oversees all programs and efforts designed to deploy clean energy through incentives by the Green Bank. The Incentive Business's current programs include the Residential Solar Investment Program (RSIP), the Smart-E Loan, the Solar for All Program, and the recently launched Energy Storage Solutions (ESS) Program, a statewide battery storage program aimed at deploying 580 MW of behind-the-meter battery storage by 2030.
Before joining the Connecticut Green Bank, Sergio worked with Chesapeake Utilities Corporation where he held several positions, including Manager of Rates, Contracts and Regulatory Affairs, and most recently acted as Director of Corporate Development, overseeing Strategy development and implementation. Sergio also has extensive experience leading retail electricity pricing to residential, commercial, and industrial customers, as well as wholesale pricing. He holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering, a M.Sc. in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from Penn State University, and an MBA from Duke University – The Fuqua School of Business.
Dave Hazel is the Sr. Manager for Performance Construction at Mitsubishi Electric Heating and Air Conditioning with over 20 years’ experience in the HVAC industry specializing in High Performance Heat Pump applications and design. He helps educate and develop architects, custom builders, developers, remodelers, weatherization firms and HVAC installation contractors along with the Passive House, Net Zero and building science communities.
As the owner of The GreenfootPrint, LLC, Paul Keyes helps clients understand and develop successful strategies for the implementation of sustainable, energy, renewable, water and waste solutions. He was the founder and owner of Victory Energy Solutions, a successful energy efficiency and sustainable firm providing services in both Connecticut and Massachusetts.
He is currently serving his second three-year term as the sponsorship chairman of the Connecticut Green Building Council (CTGBC), the state’s leading sustainability organization.
