Habitat for Humanity® Community Build
Join AIA Connecticut and the Allied Advisory Committee for a Habitat for Humanity® Community Build Day!
Each date and time is limited to 10 volunteers. We welcome volunteers of all skill levels, interests, and experience levels.
Habitat for Humanity® is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the elimination of poverty housing through the creation of home ownership opportunities for low-income working families. Habitat for Humanity® builds and rehabilitates homes with the goal of creating safe, decent, affordable houses that add to the revitalization of neighborhoods. Their advocacy efforts focus on policy reform to remove systemic barriers preventing low-income and historically underserved families from accessing adequate, affordable shelter. Habitat for Humanity® accomplishes its mission by partnering with individuals, religious and civic organizations, local businesses and corporations.
Habitat for Humanity® works in more than 70 countries and have helped more than 39 million people improve their living conditions since 1976.
Register by August 24th to receive a t-shirt.
Please note the following information for participating in the builds:
- All volunteers must wear appropriate work shoes/clothing.
- Hard hats and safety vests will be supplied on site if needed.
- Volunteers do not have to be highly skilled construction people.
- You will be required to sign a waiver sheet with the affiliate you work with.
- Plan to bring your own lunch and beverages to the build.
Cancellation Policy for Habitat for Humanity® Community Builds: AIA Connecticut must be notified prior to your chosen date of any cancellation or substitution of volunteer. The builds are relying on the volunteers to be present and active.
