Per AIA Connecticut’s policy on board vacancies, applications are accepted before the September board meeting. A Nominating Committee, comprised of the Past President (Chair), the President, the President-Elect, a board director, and an at-large member, reviews the applications and recommends a slate of candidates to the board. 

The officer positions, as well as the Associate AIA member of the board, are elected by the board, with all serving one-year terms. Open director positions are determined by the membership. The Nominating Committee recommends up to three candidates for election to a three-year term.
