The Emerging Professionals award honors emerging architects and recent graduates who have demonstrated exceptional, innovative contributions to the architecture profession. It recognizes those who have excelled not only within the discipline but also through exemplary service in the public realm, advancing both the field and the communities they serve. The award celebrates creativity, leadership, and dedication, supporting the growth and impact of the next generation of architects.
Candidates can be nominated by peers, mentors, allied professionals, employers, or self-nominated.
Pickard Chilton
An active NOMA member since 2018, Deep was an inaugural NOMAct Board Member, past Membership Chair, and is currently a Director-at-Large. He is also an NCARB Firm Licensing Advisor.
With a passion for education, since 2019 Deep has regularly served as a visiting critic for Iowa State University, University of Hartford, University of New Mexico, and the University of Minnesota.
As a highly respected member of Pickard Chilton, Deep has worn many hats, including co-founding their mentorship program, coordinating their AXP/Licensure efforts, and supporting recruitment. In recognition of his design ability and thoughtful leadership, he was named an Associate in 2022.
Originally from India, Deep infuses his work with passion, intellect, a keen focus on energy conservation and user experience. He has made meaningful contributions to many of Pickard Chilton's projects and is currently a project architect for two confidential large scale mixed-use developments.
Jason's impact within the architecture community is evident through his extensive involvement and leadership roles within AIA Connecticut and beyond. From his participation in the Leadership Academy to serving as both the AIA Associate Director in New Orleans and Connecticut and the AIA CT EP Co-Chair, Jason has demonstrated exceptional commitment to advancing the profession.
His contributions extend beyond administrative roles. Jason has organized numerous initiatives aimed at fostering professional development and camaraderie among EPs, including career development sessions and networking opportunities like happy hours. Additionally, his writings have been published in eVolo magazine & Skyscrapers book, showcasing his expertise and thought leadership.
Overall, Jason's multifaceted involvement underscores his status as an exemplary member of the architectural community, embodying the spirit of leadership, service, and creativity.
